GC17A/QP5050A GCMS (Shimadzu, USA/Japan)

This instrument is used for routine mass spectral analysis of volatile organic mixtures. It consists of an autosampler equipped capillary GC interfaced with an EI ionization quadrupole mass analyzer with a mass range of 900 Da. A low polarity (5% phenyl-, 95%methyl-siloxane) column is normally installed. This instrument is also located in Room B14, Remsen Hall.
